The Wildland Weed Warriors, under the supervision of Santa Clarita staff, need volunteers to help restore habitat to the Golden Valley Ranch Open Space by removing weeds and planting native saplings.

Volunteers must bring work gloves. Optional tools to bring. shovel և / or a rotating shovel, also called a “fight” or “hula” shovel.

This will be an ongoing outdoor restoration project to help provide more food, shelter for pollinators, birds, deer, and other animals in the lead ecosystem.

Age: 12 years old և older, 12-13 year olds must be accompanied by a parent.

Volunteers are required on Saturdays, April 2, April 16 և April 30, from 8 am to noon.

Location / directions. Meet at Golden Valley Ranch Open Space, Placerita Trailhead, north of Placerita Canyon Road. Take Placerita Canyon Road 3.52 miles east of 14 highways to the Golden Valley Ranch Open Space, on the left side of Placerita Trailhead.

– For your safety, wear work shoes, jeans, clothes that you have not soiled, gloves, hats, protective creams.

– It is best to wear layers.

– Bring water and snacks.
