Join the Santa Clarita Valley Zonta Club on Monday, May 23 at 6:30 pm for its annual awards ceremony, which offers scholarships in three different categories for women.

Scholarships that Zonta presents each year include the Jo Ann Rodriguez Memorial Scholarship, the Virginia Wrage Memorial Fund, and Young Women in Public Affairs.

The first is the Zonta International Young Women in Public Relations Award, which recognizes young women aged 16-19 who demonstrate leadership skills, commitment to public service, and civic goals. It encourages them to continue their participation in public and political life.

Second, the JoAnn Rodriguez Memorial Scholarship was established by the Santa Clarita Valley Zonta Club in 2022 to invest in young women with outstanding business accounting potential.

Finally, the Virginia Verej Memorial Foundation was established in 1995 by the Zonta Club in Santa Clarita Valley. It helps women in their 40s and older who have experienced a life-changing event that requires education, allowing them to reach their full potential in a variety of fields.

Investing in women’s and girls’ education brings in high incomes, such as breaking poverty cycles, boosting economic growth, and empowering women both at home and at work. Education is a human right.

The Santa Clarita Valley Zonta Club, founded in 1974, is a dynamic professional women ‘s organization working together to promote women and girls in the Santa Clarita Valley.
