Enters into force on Saturday, July 30, 2022, led by Los Angeles County Fire Chief Daryl L. Osby will officially leave the department after completing nearly four decades of fire service.

“I am truly grateful for the amazing 38 years I have spent protecting the lives, property, and environment of the people of the Los Angeles area, especially the last eleven years when I have had the honor of serving as Chief of the Fire Department. “The nation, if not the world,” said Osby.

Osby was originally appointed to the post by the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors in February 2011. During his tenure, the department has launched several groundbreaking innovation programs to improve the delivery and quality of life-saving services to its four million inhabitants. under his care.

“Day by day we responded to the call of those who were living the worst day of their lives, whether they needed rescue, medical care, or just a helping hand. It is this unwavering commitment that has inspired me to go to work every day, it makes it so hard to say goodbye. “It was a real honor to be your fire chief,” Osby said.

In the run-up to Osby’s retirement, he will work with his executive team and the Board of Supervisors to ensure a seamless succession plan.
