Andrew Henderson, a freshman at Canyon College, has been on the All-State Team of the California Community College Men’s Basketball Coaches Association 2021-22, ending a season in which he has won all conferences.

Henderson was one of 23 players և 10 freshmen from both the Nordic and Southern regions to receive the Hamazkayin Awards. An additional seven players were honored with the National Medal of Honor.

The Chatsworth High School striker averaged 19.7 points և 8.7 rebounds per game, while the Cougar scored from 56 percent.

He averaged third place in the Western Conference, leading in the Western Province, and 17th in the South.

Henderson scored double-digit points in all but two games, scoring the highest point of the season – 31 points against Santa Monica on February 2. In defense, Henderson came up with 34 goals and 42 blocks in 25 games.

Those numbers also helped Henderson earn a Western Southern First Team Award.

Henderson is the first Cougar to be honored with the Hamazkayin Team after Jaylen Bland did so at the end of the 2012-13 season. Recently, former Cougars Christopher Bradford (2019-20) և Michael Calloway (2016-17) were awarded the National Honorary Award.

The Canyons (15-11, 7-7) completed the 2021-22 campaign, which equaled the third in the South Western Province. Playing with all the freshmen, the Cougar won six of their last eight games, almost missing out on the post-season.
