SCVNews.com | Caltrans Announces 45-Day Closures of I-210 Polk and Yarnell Ramps

The California Department of Transportation is announcing the extended closure of multiple westbound Interstate 210 ramps in Sylmar for paving work. Residents and local businesses located near the highway may experience noise, vibration and dust associated with construction activities.

Crews will close the following ramps to westbound I-210 for up to 45 days.

On and off ramps on Polk Street Monday, August 15, 2022 at 7 p.m.

Yarnell Street and exit ramps starting Monday, August 22, 2022 at 7 p.m.

Westbound I-210 Hubbard Street ramps are now open to motorists. Westbound Paxton Street ramps are expected to reopen on Friday, August 5.

The closure of the ramps will allow additional space for crews to pave the far right lane. Motorists are advised to use an alternative route during the closure. All closures are weather permitting and subject to change.

The work on I-210 is part of a $135.5 million project to replace all lanes of I-210 with new pavement from Wheatland Avenue to I-5. This project is funded by Senate Bill 1, the Highway Repair and Accountability Act of 2017. This project also upgrades the overhead sign structures, traffic junction detectors, center bulkhead and guard rail system.

Caltrans reminds drivers to be “work zone alert” and “slow for the cone zone.”
