Residents are invited to volunteer for the 2022 District Cleanup event on Saturday, April 9, where participants can collect cleaning supplies from one of three pedestrian crossings and dispose of garbage in their local neighborhoods. This event is a valuable volunteer opportunity for residents to engage with their community, protect the Santa Clarita ecosystem by collecting garbage, and dispose of it properly. All interested residents are required to register online at SantaClaritaVolunteers.com: before the event.
Registered volunteers will start their day with free gloves and garbage bags from their preferred freeway collection point, which will be open from 8:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. on the day of the event. On Earth Day բ Arbor Day, free mulch bags will be available at each meeting place so participants can use them for home gardening projects until supplies run out. When registering, participants will be asked to choose their preferred car transport location, including:
Canyon Country Community Center, 18410 Sierra Highway:
Central Park, 27150 Bouquet Canyon Road:
Newhol Community Center, 22421 Market Street
After picking up the cleaning supplies, the volunteers will go out to the community, their neighborhoods, walkways, sidewalks and sidewalks to pick up garbage at their own pace. Participants are invited to post photos of their events on social media using the hashtag #CleanUpSC. Instructional videos that contain environmentally friendly tips on recycling, water quality, composting, etc. will also be available on the site.
