A HOSPITAL in California is on high alert when police respond to an “important incident” in the emergency room.

Police units rushed to Santa Clara Kaiser Hospital San Jose Tuesday morning following reports of a man making “threatening” remarks.

Cops in Santa Clara confirmed that there was “police activity in the emergency room”, but added that it was not an active shooter situation.

About 20 minutes after the warning was issued, SCPD said officers were able to come to a “peaceful resolution with a subject” in the ER.

The unknown suspect was arrested after making threatening threats in the ER, Mercury News reported.

NBC Bay Area reported that the man brought a gun into the reporting room; however, cops have not confirmed those reports.

Police said no shots were fired, and no injuries were reported.

At the time of the investigation, SCPD advised hospital staff to avoid the area because law enforcement officials were operating the scene.
