San Jose’s Deputy Police Chief Stanley McFadden is new Stockton Chief

San Jose’s Deputy Chief of Police, Stanley McFadden, was elected the 50th City of Stockton Police Chief.

The selection was announced this week following a nationwide search and rigorous process, surveys with the Stockton community and the police department, interviews with community leaders and a town hall meeting with each candidate.

Stockton officials cited McFadan’s 29 years of law enforcement experience and a wide range of San Jose special missions, including:

Field Training Unit, Violent Crime Enforcement Team (VCET), Gang Investigation Unit (GIU), Domestic Violence, and as a member of the homicide / crime scene unit both as a police officer and a sergeant.

As a lieutenant, McFadden was the director of the academy, the commander of the training unit and the commander of our interior unit. Most recently, he was promoted to captain of the Central Division before being promoted to the rank of Deputy Chief of Field Operations. Deputy Chief of Staff McFadden holds a bachelor’s degree in criminal law science from the University of California Coast.
