San Jose Police Arrest Suspects in Two Separate Homicides

Two murder suspects were arrested in San Jose for a separate murder last week, San Jose police said Monday.

San Jose police said officers responded to a July 12 assault report on Block 100 on South Market Street and found a woman suffering from a stab wound. Her death was determined on the spot.

Police said a suspect, 40-year-old Saunray Winchester, was arrested without incident on July 15 after he was seen walking near the streets of West Santa Clara and the North Market.

Winchester has been placed in the Santa Clara County Jail and is being held without bail. He is due to appear in court on Tuesday at noon.

Police also responded on the morning of July 15 to another murder. A man was shot around 6 a.m. on Block 2100 of Monterey Road, police said. The man died on the spot.

Manuel Gutierrez, 20, was arrested on the spot and placed in the Santa Clara County Jail. He is also held without bail. His first appearance in court is scheduled to take place this afternoon, according to the online database of the Ministry of Repair.
