San Diego County Health Officials Report 897 New COVID-19 Cases, 8 Deaths

San Diego County Health and Human Services Agency 897 was mentioned new cases of COVID-19 Monday, while the number of virus-related deaths rose by eight from last week.

Another 1,223 cases of the virus were confirmed on Sunday, along with 1,909 on Saturday and 1,738 on Friday. The new cases brought the prefecture’s cumulative total to 887,636 since the start of the pandemic.

The total number of deaths in the region now stands at 5,417.

Meanwhile, the number of people hospitalized with coronavirus infection in San Diego County, reached 438according to the latest government figures.

More than 3 million or 89.9% of San Diegans 6 months of age and older are at least partially vaccinated. Over 2.65 million or 79.3% are fully vaccinated. A total of 1,416,251 or 58% of the 2,430,747 eligible San Diegans have received assistance.
