South San Francisco bank robbed at gunpoint

South San Francisco – Police say an investigation into an armed bank robbery in South San Francisco is ongoing.

The robbery was reported around 9:45 a.m. Monday at a bank on the 100th block of McClellan Drive, South San Francisco police said in a statement Tuesday.

Police said the suspect pointed a black semi-automatic pistol at a bank teller and demanded cash. After receiving an undisclosed amount, he left the bank and was last seen walking east on his drive to McClellan.

The suspect is a white man in his 50s with a white beard. Police said he was last seen wearing a black hat, glasses, a black sweater and khaki pants.

The suspect and the handgun remained unused as of 5 p.m. Tuesday, police said.
