Sacramento shooting was gunfight among gang rivals

SACRAMENTO, Calif. (AP) – Police believe at least five people were killed in a mass shooting in downtown Sacramento last weekend and that there was gang-related violence.

The Sacramento Police Department says there was a shooting between at least two groups of men. Six people were killed and 12 were injured in the bloodshed. Among the injured are two brothers who have been arrested in connection with the massacre.

No one has yet been charged with homicide. At least two people remain in hospital with gunshot wounds.

Authorities credit the evidence and advice provided by the public for breaking the investigation.
