ROTARY RECOGNITION: Rotary Club begins new year, installs board members

The Rotary Club of St. Mark celebrated another year of achievements in the deployment of officers. The event took place on Friday at the Price Center where outgoing President Bruce Smith handed over the reins to incumbent President John Hardy.

During Smith’s year, the club set more than a dozen goals, easily surpassing each that included a $ 25,577 donation to the Rotary Foundation and a $ 7,418 Polio Plus campaign contribution.

Many awards have been given, including a great team for flawless participation as well as several Paul Harris – (PHF) scholarships. Recognition of partner Paul Harris recognizes individuals who contribute or have contributions in their name of $ 1,000 to the Rotary Foundation

Rotary established recognition in 1957 to encourage and show appreciation for substantial contributions to what was then the Foundation’s only program, the Rotary Foundation Scholarship for Advanced Studies, the forerunner of Ambassadors Scholarships.

Board members introduced: John Hardy, chairman; Peter, Baen, President-elect; Bruce Smith, immediate president. Cody Lock, treasurer. Sean Locker, secretary. Ben Duncan, Sergeant in Arms. Jimmy Cobb, Rotary Foundation; Dale Kelley, director? and Scott Yarbrough, director.
