fun and exciting activities that Californians can enjoy this summer.

The last 18 months have been difficult for people around the world as events, venues and activities were all severely restricted. Thankfully, the global health crisis is gradually changing and now more and more activities are once again becoming available to the public.

There is still an element of confusion regarding what is open, what is in the process of opening, and what remains restricted. We have created a list of some of the most fun and exciting activities that Californians can enjoy this summer.

The great outdoors

California is known for its natural beauty and it more than deserves the reputation as a lovely state. Obviously, there is much more to California than beaches and city streets – a short drive from Los Angeles will take you up to a series of gorgeous hikes and natural parks to explore.

City, state and federal parks have been open throughout the course of the international health crisis and are more popular than ever as everyone wants to take in as much natural beauty as possible.

Exploring parks of any size is a great way to spend an afternoon or even a weekend. After months of lockdown, many of us are desperate to get out into wide open spaces and introduce more physical activity into our lives. Hiking, biking, walking and camping in parks are great ways to scratch that itch.

Online activities and hobbies

Over the course of the last 18 months, many people turned towards digital hobbies and activities in order to try something new and fun while still in lockdown. There is a myriad of different online activities, including everything from streaming parties, workouts and yoga to cooking classes and virtual groups.

Another digital hobby that has grown in popularity over the course of the last five to 10 years is online gambling. Online casinos now offer hundreds of different games for patrons to play and the most popular online casinos also offer competitive registration bonuses and seasonal promotions. The online casino industry is likely to continue growing as more and more people try it out and realize that it is more convenient and just as much fun as gambling in brick-and-mortar establishments.

Getting your culture fix

Many of us have pretty much only engaged with culture through our computer screens and televisions over the last year and a half. In California, museums, zoos, galleries, botanical gardens, amusement parks and aquariums are now open to the public for indoor operations. That being said, it is worth booking your spot in advance for popular cultural venues because indoor venues are only open at a 50% maximum capacity to encourage public health and safety.

There is a huge number of different museums, galleries and venues to visit in California and there is most definitely something for everyone. Los Angeles, in particular, has more museums and theatres than any other city in the United States, and it has an extremely active art gallery and music culture.

If you are a fan of art museums, the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art, the Haggin Museum, the Crocker Art Museum, the Los Angeles County Museum of Art, the Getty Center, the Palm Springs Art Museum, the Riverside Art Museum and the Robert & Francis Fullerton Museum of Art are all internationally renowned museums with world-class collections.

For those who are looking for a slightly different museum experience, there are many Californian museums that cater to other audiences. The Museum of Us in San Diego is one example, as is the USS Midway Museum. The Broad museum in Los Angeles, the Ronald Regan Presidential Library & Museum, and MOXI, The Wolf Museum of Exploration + Innovation are all different museums that have unique exhibitions.

Hitting the beach

There is really nothing better than Californian beaches in the summer. Whether you want to sunbathe, check out the bustling boardwalks or go swimming and surfing, there is always something going on that everyone can enjoy. The beaches in Los Angeles are now open to everyone, but social distancing is required for individuals who are relaxing on the beaches.

One of the most wonderful things about Californian beaches is the fact that they can be enjoyed all year long. The summer is obviously the best time to hang out on the beach, but the autumn, spring and winter are all wonderful times of the year to enjoy relaxing walks around Los Angeles, checking out the beaches and enjoying them during more peaceful times of the year.
