Remember Lavender from Matilda? Kiami Davael has just turned 30 and you won’t believe what she looks like now

MATILDA was the ingenious schoolgirl who dazzled everyone with her magical powers.
But it was her super-cool best friend Lavender that we all wanted to be.
The adorable teenager became an unlikely style icon in the 90s through her cool flights, floral dresses and kooky glasses.
And who can forget the laughing moment when they put a salamander in Mrs. Trunchball’s water glass? Amazing.
So, it might make you feel a little old to hear that Kiami Davael, who played Lavender in the 1996 film, is now 35.
The former child star loves sharing snaps on Instagram.
Kiami now seems unrecognizable thanks to her trendy top knot, silver earrings with hoops and bodycon dress, complete with a bold cutaway around the bust.
After starring in the Roald Dahl movie, Kiami remained relatively under the radar.
She appeared in the short-lived television series Conan The Adventurer, had a small role as Anna in the teen show Moesha and starred in comedies In The House and Grown Ups.
Kiami also appeared in the 2000 comedy film Bruno, her first major screen role since Matilda.
The California star went to the University of Kentucky and graduated in 2008 with a degree in psychology.
It turns out she’s still close friends with Mara Wilson, who played Matilda, and she posted a photo of her together in 2015.
