Armed boy arrested for stealing from store in Vallejo

Vallejo, California (cron) — A group of under-18s were arrested in Vallejo on Sunday after being charged with stealing goods from a store, according to the Vallejo Police Department. One of the boys was in possession of a firearm, police said.

VPD was dispatched to Block 100 of Plaza Drive for a reported robbery. When officers arrived, the VPD said store staff told them the suspect had fled the building.

Police said officers found the suspect hiding behind a building. The suspects are said to have scattered when they realized they had been spotted.

A California Highway Patrol helicopter helped VPD locate the suspect in the company’s parking lot. They were all eventually arrested. One of the suspects was trying to hide the firearm after it was found.

Police did not release the number of arrests. Most of the boys were released by their parents, but the gunman was taken to the Solano County Juvenile Detention Center.
