Updated, April 27, 2:30 pm: The following stories and maps have been updated to reflect changes in the data reported to the state by April 26th.

A petition to bring back the California government. Gavin Newsom We have collected 1.6 million verified signatures. In other words Recall is almost inevitable..

The Recall Newsam Campaign announced that its signature, 1,626,042, was verified by the Secretary of State’s office and exceeded the required threshold of 1,497,709. Where do all those signatures come from? The ABC7 News data journalism team has created the following map to show the counties in California with the highest percentage of registered voters in favor of the recall.

In raw numbers, the maximum number of verified signatures is from Los Angeles County, which is about 264,000. But that’s not a big surprise, as Los Angeles County is also the largest in the state. In neighboring Orange and Ventura counties, more and more voters are signing petitions to recall Newsom as a percentage of their population.

However, this map shows a darker shade of blue far north of Central Valley and Northern California. These counties may be small in terms of population, but verified signatures show much stronger support for recalling Governor Newsom.

Relation: Recall that Newsom’s efforts formally meet the signing requirements

In Amador County, 19% of registered voters have signed a petition. This is a significant increase from about 3% when we last reported this data in February.

Amador is in the middle of a large county on the eastern side of the state, all showing relatively strong support for recalls.

The Bay Area is a notorious democracy, and this map shows that the pattern is preserved. The area appears virtually white on the map, making Newsom more popular.

In San Francisco, it has been confirmed that only 1.8% of registered voters have signed a recall petition. In marine, it is even lower at 1.5%.

Of all the counties in the Bay Area, the recall campaign has the most support in Solano County, with 7% of voters signing the petition. It’s still much lower than its eastern county.
