At least 4 killed in wrong-way crash on Southern California highway

At least four people were killed when a wrong-way driver engulfed several vehicles in a pile on Highway 71 in Chino Hills early Sunday morning, officials said.

The accident occurred around 2:30 a.m. on the southbound lane of Route 71 near the Central Avenue exit.

Several drivers called 911 and reported seeing a driver heading north in the south lane, according to CHP. The incident happened shortly after four or five vehicles collided, a police officer told news photographers at the scene.
