Public Works Upgraded Bloomington Crosswalks – Westside Story Newspaper – Online

SAN BERNARDINO, CA – New pedestrian-style stairways with high visibility and pedestrian-activated rectangular lanterns were installed near Bloomington High School last week at the Alder / Avenida and Alder / Slover intersections. Also, all the crossings of the school area around the high school were newly painted.

The Department of Public Works attends Bloomington Traffic Mitigation Meetings, which includes the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Office, the California Highway Patrol, and the Colton United School District to identify additional countermeasures to improve safety for students who walk and bike to school in the Bloomington area. These improvements will serve to calm traffic and increase student safety.
