President Joe Biden tests positive for COVID-19 for 2nd day in a row

Hi to all. I just tested negative for COVID-19 after being in isolation for five days. My symptoms were mild. My recovery was quick and I feel great. COVID is not gone. But even as cases increase in this country, deaths from COVID are down nearly 90%. Here’s the bottom line. When my predecessor got Covid he had to be airlifted to Walter Reed Medical Center. He was seriously ill fortunately. He recovered when I got Covid. I worked upstairs in the white house and the office is upstairs and for the five day difference is the vaccinations of course, but also three new tools free to all and widely available. You don’t have to be president to use these tools for your defense. In fact, the same booster shots, the same at home test. The same treatment I got is available to you. My administration has made sure that all Americans across the country from all walks of life have free access to these tools. Over the past 18 months, my government has left no stone unturned in our fight against this pandemic. None Reduce deaths by almost 90% since I took office because of the help of all the people in this business with roses and schools responded that grandparents are hugging their children and grandchildren again, weddings, celebrations birthdays are again in person. So let’s continue to emerge from one of the darkest times in our history with hope and light for what may come get vaccinated if you haven’t already and brace yourself now, order your free test if you get sick and test positive, seek treatment. Take advantage of these life-saving tools. We have more of these tools than before and now I can go back to the Oval Office. Thank you all very much.

President Joe Biden has tested positive for COVID-19 for the second day in a row, in a rare case of “recovery” after treatment with an antiviral drug. In a letter noting the positive test, Dr. Kevin O’Connor, the White House physician, said Sunday that the president “continues to feel well” and will continue to work from the executive residence while in isolation.Biden tested positive on Saturday, requiring him to cancel travel and personal events as he isolates for at least five days according to Centers for Disease Control and Prevention guidelines. After initially testing positive on July 21, Biden, 79, was treated with the antiviral drug Paxlovid. He tested negative for the virus last Tuesday and Wednesday, prompting him to leave isolation wearing a mask indoors. Research shows that a minority of those prescribed Paxlovid experience a rebound of the virus. The fact that a recovery probably occurred and not a re-infection is a positive sign for Biden’s health once he is cleared of the disease.” The fact that the president has cleared his illness and is symptom-free is a good sign and makes it less likely that he will develop long-lasting COVID,” said Dr. Albert Ho, an infectious disease specialist at Yale University’s school of public health.

President Joe Biden has tested positive for COVID-19 for the second day in a row, in a rare case of “recovery” after treatment with an antiviral drug.

In a letter noting the positive test, Dr. Kevin O’Connor, the White House physician, said Sunday that the president “continues to feel well” and will continue to work from the executive residence while in isolation.

Biden tested positive on Saturday, requiring him to cancel travel and personal events as he will self-isolate for at least five days, according to Centers for Disease Control and Prevention guidelines.

After initially testing positive on July 21, Biden, 79, was treated with the antiviral drug Paxlovid. He tested negative for the virus last Tuesday and Wednesday, prompting him to leave isolation wearing a mask indoors.

Research suggests that a minority of those prescribed Paxlovid experience a rebound of the virus. The fact that a recovery rather than a re-infection probably occurred is a positive sign for Biden’s health once he is cleared of the disease.

“The fact that the president has cleared his illness and has no symptoms is a good sign and makes it less likely that he will develop long-term COVID,” said Dr. Albert Ho, an infectious disease expert at Yale University’s school of public health.
