President Joe Biden falls off bike after beach ride near his Delaware home

President Joe Biden fell when he tried to get off his bike at the end of a walk Saturday in Cape Henlopen State Park near his beachfront home in Delaware, but said he was not injured.

“I’m fine,” he told reporters after US intelligence agents rushed to his aid. “I caught my foot” in the cages of the toes.

Biden, 79, and first lady Jill Biden were completing a morning stroll when the president decided to pedal in front of a crowd of well-wishers standing by the sidewalk. Biden, wearing a helmet, fell when he tried to get off.

The president gathered quickly and spent several minutes chatting with people who had gathered to watch him ride a bicycle.

The Bidens spend a great weekend at their home on Rehoboth Beach. On Friday they celebrated the 45th anniversary of their marriage.
