Postcard saying you’re entitled to money from a lawsuit isn’t a scam

Some people receive postcards with information that says money is coming and wonder if it is true. The answer is yes. She’s legit. The postcard reads: “Court records show that you attempted to obtain a driver’s license, vehicle registration, or state licensing services online. The site was not a government site and did not deliver what was promised.” The card says you can get back the money you lost and provides a website where you can make a claim. This refund is related to a December 2019 lawsuit the Federal Trade Commission brought against the company that created the misleading website. The FTC alleged that On Point Global ran hundreds of deceptive websites that promised a quick and easy government service, such as renewing a driver’s license or determining eligibility for public benefits such as housing or Section 8 food stamps. The FTC won the lawsuit in April and is now distributing the millions of dollars awarded in federal court. Again, the postcard is not a scam and you have to file a claim to get your share of the money. Watch the full video story above.
