Pope Francis strongly supports the US Supreme Court’s decision to overturn Roe vs. Wade and likens abortion to “hiring a hitman to solve a problem.”
The Pope reiterated the position of the Catholic Church that life begins at conception.
He spoke from his apartment in the Vatican… “I ask, is it legal? Is it right to eliminate a human life to solve a problem?”
Then the 85-year-old Pope was asked about a hot topic in the church – whether someone, like the Speaker of the House of Representatives, was. Nancy Pelosi, who is pro-choice, should receive communion. FYI… Pelosi’s archbishop denied communion in San Francisco, where she lives, even though she received the sacrament at the Vatican last week.
The Pope’s response: “When the Church loses its pastoral character, when the bishop loses his pastoral character, it creates a political problem. That’s all I can say.”
