Pomona woman delivering Amazon packages attacked by pit bull in Highland – Daily Bulletin

A Pomona woman delivering packages to Amazon suffered severe injuries to her upper body when she was attacked by a pit bull in Highland on Thursday night, June 23, authorities said.

The incident happened at a home in Lillian Lane Block 7300 shortly after 5 p.m.

The 52-year-old woman, an independent contractor for Amazon, opened the gate, entered the yard and was attacked by the dog, Cpl said. Nathan Campos of the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department.

He said the dog owner intervened and was able to pull the dog.

The shipment driver was taken to Loma Linda University Medical Center. Campos did not know the current condition of the woman.

San Bernardino County Animal Care and Control removed the dog.

The victim’s vehicle and the undelivered packages were secured at the Highland Commissariat in order to be returned to the victim and Amazon, authorities said.

“This is a terrible incident and our thoughts are with the driver,” Amazon said in a statement. “We wish him a speedy recovery.”
