Police: Man killed in Barrio Logan

San Diego (CNS) – Police said a man was killed in the Barrio Logan district early Thursday morning.

According to San Diego police officer Tony Martinez, the dispatcher was called shortly before 3:25 am by a person who reported finding a bloody man lying on the sidewalk on National Avenue near Sigsbee Street.

Police and paramedics responded, but Martinez said the victim was believed to be in his 60s and was sentenced to death on the scene.

The victim was suffering from obvious trauma, but it was not immediately clear whether he was stabbed or shot, officials said.

A murder investigator was investigating the situation.

A detailed description of the suspect was not immediately available.
