Pokemon Scarlet and Violet: Every New Pokemon Revealed So Far

A new generation of Pokémon games is coming to Switch this fall. Pokemon Scarlet and Violet will be released in November 2022 for Nintendo’s console and will take players to a brand new open world region full of new and well-known Pokémon to catch.

Though we’ve only had a brief look at the games since their announcement, here are all of the new Pokémon that have been revealed so far.

New Pokemon



The grassy starter in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, Sprigatito.

  • Type: grass
  • Capability: overgrow

Sprigatito is the starter Grass Pokémon of Pokemon Scarlet and Violet. The grass cat is described as “capricious” and “alert.”



Scarlet and Violet’s Fire starter Pokémon, Fuecoco.

The Pokemon Company

  • Category: fire crocodile
  • Type: Fire
  • Capability: Flames

Fuecoco is Pokemon Scarlet and Violet’s fire starter. The pepper-shaped crocodile is said to be “laid back” and “get things done at his own pace”.



Quaxly is the aquatic starter of Pokemon Scarlet and Violet.

  • Category: duckling
  • Type: water
  • Capability: electricity

Quaxly is the final starter Pokémon in Scarlet and Violet. The water-type duckling is described as “serious and orderly”.



The Pokemon Company

  • Category: Mouse
  • Type: electric
  • Capability: Static/Natural Healing

One of the Pokémon used by your friend and rival Nemona, Pawmi is an electric mouse that can discharge electricity from its cheeks and front paws.

  • Category: Pig
  • Type: normal
  • Capability: Aroma Veil/Gluttony

Lechonk, another Pokémon used by Nemona, is a shy, plump piglet with a keen sense of smell.

  • Category: olive
  • Type: Grass/Normal
  • Capability: Early bird

This tiny olive-colored Pokémon can emit a bitter oil to slow down enemies and give itself a chance to escape.

Koraidon (left) is the legendary Pokemon that adorns Pokemon Scarlet’s box, while Miraidon (right) is Pokemon Violet’s mascot.
