A plane with three passengers crashed late Saturday afternoon near the Three Sisters Falls hiking trail in Descanso, the Sheriff’s Department and Cal Fire reported.
A man called 911 at 4:09 p.m. to report the crash of a small airplane with fixed wings about 6 miles east of El Capitan Reservoir. Upon arrival, authorities found that none of the passengers had been injured.
Cal Fire had already made a separate rescue in Three Sisters Falls with the Sheriff’s Department helicopter when the helicopter crew spotted the crashed plane. They landed the helicopter and then went to the crash site. The passengers were not taken to hospital, but the Cal Fire crew waited for investigators to reach the spot.
No other details were immediately available, Cal Fire said.
