Washington DC (WXIN) — If you received a HelloFresh meal kit in July, the ground beef may have been contaminated with E. coli.

USDA’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) has issued a public health warning for beef, but there is no recall as the product is no longer available for purchase.

Ground beef was distributed in meal kits from 2 July to 21 July. The USDA said its investigation into the E. coli outbreak confirmed that many “case patients” received ground beef distributed by HelloFresh.

According to FSIS, public health alerts include “ground beef 85% lean/15% fat” with the code “EST#46841 L1 22 155” or “EST#46841 L5 22 155” 10 oz plastic vacuum packed package. side of the package.

FSIS is concerned that some ground beef may be in people’s freezers. If you have ground beef, don’t eat it and throw it away.

Anyone with questions about public health warnings can contact hello@hellofresh.com.

FSIS advises consumers to only eat ground beef cooked at a temperature of 160 degrees Fahrenheit and use a food thermometer to ensure it is cooked properly.
