The funeral of the murdered MP Riverside will be held on Friday.General welcome to procession route

Riverside County Sheriff’s Deputy Isiah Cordero, who was shot dead while on duty last month, will be put to rest Friday.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am at Harvest Christian Fellowship Church on the 6100 block of Arlington Avenue.

Around 10:30 a.m., a procession will take place through the streets of Riverside before the funeral.

The procession begins at the Atchison and Graham Mortuary and ends at the Funeral Home.

According to the Sheriff’s Department, citizens are welcome to take to the streets in support of Deputy Cordero.

The root of the matrix is:

• From the morgue parking lot, head east on Magnolia Avenue
• Continue east on Magnolia Avenue to Madison Street
• Turn left and head north onto Madison Street
• Turn left heading west onto Arlington Avenue
• Turn right and go north onto Urban Street
• Follow Urban Street, which leads to the church parking lot.

Deputy Cordero was killed while on duty on Thursday, December 29.

He began serving with the Sheriff’s Department as a Correctional Agent in 2014, serving at Larry D. Smith Correctional Institution and Indio Prison.

Cordero was promoted to Deputy Sheriff in 2018 and worked at the Robert Presley Detention Center and the Larry D. Smith Correctional Facility before being transferred to the Julpa Valley Sheriff’s Department.

He graduated from driving school in September 2022 and was working as a traffic enforcement agent for motorcycles when he died.

“On behalf of the entire Department, our heartfelt condolences to the family of Deputy Commissioner Isaiah Cordero,” the Sheriff’s Department said in a statement.

Deputy Cordero’s containment services are to remain private.
