Pedestrian struck and killed on Wilson Ranch Road in Phelan – VVNG.com

PHELAN, CA (VVNG.com) — California Highway Patrol troopers responded to investigate after a pedestrian was struck and killed early Monday morning and the Phelan community.

It happened just before 5:00 a.m. on August 1, 2022, along Wilson Ranch Road between Smoketree and Walnut Roads.

Emergency personnel responded to the incident and located the pedestrian down on the roadway and confirmed that CPR was in progress. Despite life-saving measures, they were pronounced dead on the spot.

The Ford pickup truck involved in the crash sustained damage to its windshield and hood. The driver was not injured and cooperated with the officers during the investigation.

The San Bernardino County Coroner arrived and claimed the body. The identity will be withheld pending notification of next of kin.

Wilson Ranch Road was closed in both directions for several hours. The cause of the accident is under investigation by the California Highway Patrol. Additional information will be updated as it becomes available.
