Passenger seriously hurt in Brea crash, driver suspected of DUI – Orange County Register

A car driver was arrested on suspicion of drunk driving while a woman expelled from a sedan that hit a tree on the weekend in Blair remained hospitalized on Monday, May 24.

Lieutenant Phil Rodriguez of Blair police said Hyundai Sonata crashed on Sunday at about 4:20 pm when he tried to turn left from Valencia Avenue to Santa Ferrode to the west. A woman sitting in the passenger seat was seriously injured when she jumped out of the car due to the force of a collision.

Blair police lieutenant Kelly Carpenter said paramedics rushed passengers to the UC Irvine Medical Center. She has recovered and remained hospitalized on Monday, Rodriguez said.

Police arrested the driver of the vehicle on suspicion of drunk driving, Rodriguez said. She was booked on suspicion of drunk driving.

According to Rodriguez, both the driver and the passenger were in their twenties. Their names were not announced immediately.
