A passenger was killed and a pilot was injured Saturday when a single-engine, vintage military-style plane crashed into a daycare center less than a mile south of the county-owned Fallbrook Airpark, fire officials said.
The plane crashed at about 1:52 p.m Altman Plants Nursery, 2575 Olive Hill Road, North County Fire District Capt. John Choi said.
The body of a rear-seat passenger was recovered from inside the plane, the captain said.
The pilot was taken to Palomar Hospital. The severity of the pilot’s injuries was not immediately known.
There was no immediate information on the cause of the crash, which also damaged some of the nursery’s products.
