Pair arrested in 2021 killing of man found shot after Pomona crash – Daily Bulletin

Two people were arrested in 2021 for the death of a man found in a pickup truck collided with a gunshot wound in Pomona, police announced on Wednesday, February 23rd.

On February 16, Pomona residents Aurelio Camarillo, 44, and Luis Silva, 28, were arrested, the Pomona Police Department said on Wednesday, February 23, in a press release. The two were arrested in connection with the investigation into the death of 32-year-old Luis Alberto Garcia on March 20, 2021, police said.

Camarillo was charged with murder, shooting at an occupied vehicle and being a criminal in possession of a firearm by the Los Angeles County Attorney’s Office, police said. Silva was charged with accessory after the incident, police said.

On the day of the shooting, police responded to a traffic accident at the intersection of Holt Boulevard and Erie Road and found a pickup truck on the road. Officers discovered that the driver, Garcia, had been shot and he was taken to hospital where he later died from his injuries, police said.

The two suspects have admitted to detectives their involvement in the murder, according to the Police Department.

The motive for the shootings and how the events took place were not immediately clear.
