The already impressive Padres infielder is getting better with the addition of the All-Star second baseman Adam Frazier.
Pittsburgh has agreed to exchange Frazier San Diego for three minor leaguers, a person with trading knowledge told The Associated Press on Sunday.
The deal was not announced, so the person spoke on condition of anonymity. The transaction is a pending physical examination. Pittsburgh has sent about $ 1.4 million to the Padres in this transaction.
Frazier was a National League starter in this month’s All-Star Game. He leads the major with 125 hits, hitting .324. He joins powerful Padres infielders including Fernando Tatis Jr., Manny Machado and Eric Hosmer.
Pittsburgh swaps infielder Tukpita Marcano, outfielder Jackswinski and right-handed Michelle Miliano.
The Padres are 58-44, the third in the NL West and hold the cushion of the second wildcard spot. Pirates has the second worst record in NL.
