Owner of Martial Arts Studio Accused of Raping San Jose Elementary Student

San Jose Police today announced the arrest of the owner of a martial arts studio in San Jose on charges of aggravated sexual assault of a child under the age of 14 he met while running an after-school program at Trace Elementary School in San Jose.

Ernest Ramirez, 54, of San Jose, was arrested on June 9 by the San Jose Police Department of the Silicon Valley Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force / Child Exploitation Details.

Police said the victim participated in the daycare program between August 2020 and June 2021, where the sexual assaults took place. The victim has since moved in with a family outside the country when they reported the incidents.

With the assistance of the Ada County Sheriff’s Office in Idaho, detectives obtained an arrest warrant for suspect Ramirez, who was located and arrested on June 9 in San Jose by detectives and placed in Santa Clara County Jail on four counts of child rape. Under 14, and four cases of oral mating on a person under 14 by force or fear.
