Oscars 2022: Lin-Manuel Miranda to skip award show after wife tests positive for COVID

Lynn-Manuel Miranda bypasses the Oscars after his wife tested positive for COVID-19. Miranda said the test was negative.

The director, writer and musician is chasing an EGOT – an Emmy, a Grammy, an Oscar and Tony – at Sunday’s awards ceremony.

Miranda, 42, is nominated for best song for the musical number “Dos Oruguitas” from the Disney animated film “Encanto”. Miranda already has two Emmy Awards, three Grammy Awards and three Tony Awards.

Only 16 people have won all four awards, including names such as Audrey Hepburn, Whoopi Goldberg, Andrew Lloyd Webber and John Legend.
