PHELAN, California (VVNG.com) – A helicopter landed on Palmdale Road to transport a person injured in a car crash on Friday night.

It happened around 8:38 p.m., April 22, 2022, east of Buttonwood Street in the Phelan community.

San Bernardino County firefighters reported a total of four vehicles were involved in the crash. Firefighters requested that the helicopter land at the scene and transport one person who was seriously injured. Two more people suffered minor injuries and were transported by off-road ambulances.

A Mercy Air helicopter landed in August at the scene and transported the patient to Loma Linda University Medical Center.

According to records of the California Highway Patrol incident, the white Nissan Altima and the white Kia Optima suffered extensive damage. The gray Toyota Camry involved also suffered damage to the front end.

The road was closed in both directions as the helicopter landed on the road and the site was cleared. According to records, both lanes reopened by 9:56 p.m.

The cause of the accident is being investigated by the CHP station Victorville.
