Last weekend shows that the United States has returned to normal
Many people returned to bars and restaurants for the first time on Moth Day after the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention relaxed mask-wearing instructions for fully vaccinated people across the country.
But the new guidance has also opened the door to confusion, as there is no way for businesses to know for sure who is vaccinated and who is not.
CDC director Dr. Rochelle Walensky was forced to do that on Sunday.
“We want people to be honest with themselves,” Warensky said. “It’s safe if you’re vaccinated and you’re not wearing a mask. It’s not safe if you’re not vaccinated and you’re not wearing a mask.”
Walensky answered questions on Sunday at several cable and network talk shows. Many hosts asked how essential workers should feel that mask obligations have been rolled back, despite the fact that many Americans are still hesitant to get vaccinated. ..
“We are asking people to take their health and get vaccinated, otherwise they will continue to be at risk,” Warensky said. “If unvaccinated, our policy has not changed.”
Local governments and state governments can issue their own rules, but according to CDC mask guidance, fully vaccinated people rarely need to wear masks indoors or outdoors.
Some health professionals expect most Americans to throw away their masks, whether or not they are vaccinated. Therefore, unvaccinated people are at risk of being infected with COVID-19.
This is a system fraud that many expect, including Alex Bodell, a visitor to New Perspective.
“I think it’s going to be mostly self-compliant. If people want to be dishonest about the situation, it’s unfortunately their privilege,” Bodel said. “… And if people want to be dishonest about the situation, that’s not good, but I’m not sure if they can actually enforce the rules to actually do something about it.”
Dr. Anthony Fauci hopes that CDC guidance will lead to more vaccinations.
“Vaccination not only protects the health of ourselves and our families, but also contributes to the health of the community by preventing the spread of the virus throughout the community,” says Forch.
