Nearly 43,700 San Marcans fully vaccinated against COVID-19

Nearly 43,700 St. Mark residents have been fully vaccinated against COVID-19, according to the Texas Department of Health.

According to the DSHS latest postal code report released on Monday, 43,687 St. Mark residents living at postcodes 78666 and 78667 are considered fully vaccinated, while 52,026 have received at least one dose.

Meanwhile, 141,882 residents of Hays County are considered fully vaccinated – 65.9% of the 215,309 eligible residents who are 5 years or older as of Monday. The DSHS said 166,131 residents of Hays County had received at least one dose of COVID-19 vaccine – 77.16% of eligible residents. In addition, the DSHS said 55,457 Hays County residents have received an additional dose of the vaccine as of Monday.

Additional data show that 89,641 residents of Hays County who have received at least one dose of COVID-19 vaccine fall into the 16-49 age group, 32,515 are between 50-64 years, 22,733 are 65-79 years, 8,810 are 12-15 4,985 are 80 and older, 7,389 are between 5 and 11 years old and 58 are of unknown age, according to the DSHS.

Of the 166,131 residents of Hays County who have received at least one dose of vaccine, 39.49% are white, 28.74% are Hispanic, 19.16% refer to others, and 8.3% are of unknown race or nationality. , 2.6% are black and 1.71% are Asian, according to the DSHS racial and ethnic distribution.

As of Monday, 99.99% of Hays County residents aged 65 and over have received at least one COVID-19 vaccine, while 94.28% in the same age group have been fully vaccinated.

The DSHS stated that 20,446,004 Texans have received at least one dose of COVID-19 vaccine and 17,293,314 have been fully vaccinated. According to the state, 75.82% of eligible Texans have received at least one dose of vaccine since Monday, while it is estimated that 64.12% of Texans are fully vaccinated. In addition, 6,334,542 Texans have received a booster shot.

In Hays County, there are no “need to make an appointment” vaccine clinics available. The vaccines typically available Monday through Friday at the Live Oak Community Clinic, 401 Broadway, will not be available until later, according to Hays County Local Health Department.

A Pfizer Vaccine Clinic is held at Communicare in Kyle at 2810 Dacy Lane every Monday-Friday from 9 a.m.-12 p.m. and 1-3 p.m.
