Two killed in Christmas shooting at Jehovah’s Witnesses congregation in Colorado

THORNTON, Colorado (KDVR) – Two people have died and a suspected device is being evaluated by first responders at Jehovah’s Congregation in Thornton.

At around 10:30 am on Sunday, police opened a murder investigation, according to a tweet posted by a Thornton Police Department official.

Around 9:00 am, TPD first responders were called to 951 Milky Way, where the Kingdom Hall of the Jehovah’s Witnesses congregation is located.

FOX31 had a reporter at the scene and was told by a witness that someone had fired a gun in the parking lot.

TPD told FOX31 that the two dead were a married couple, and that the man shot the woman before turning the gun on himself. Both are former members of a Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses.

“Dear friends, today’s meeting will be held on Zoom due to the tragic incident at the Kingdom Hall this morning. No. Rest assured that the local body of elders will take care of the needs of the affected congregations.”
