Mountain lion spotted roaming through Selma neighborhood

SELMA, California (KFSN) – Selma residents had a wild visitor who came to town on Monday.

A mountain lion was spotted in the neighborhood near Countryview and Evergreen Street around 10 a.m.

After going from house to house and yard to yard for several hours, the cat weighing more than 100 kg remained on the porch of a house.

There he was struck with an arrow sedative.

Raman Gill and her family were getting ready for school and work when the cougar arrived on their front porch.

“We do not know exactly where the mountain lion came from, but speaking to our scientists, he thinks it was like the Kings River Corridor or the pipeline leading to the national forest land,” said Ken Paglia of the California Department. Fish and Wildlife.

The animal was calmed down, transported for a health check-up and then returned to nature in the Kings National Forest.
