Mother and daughter graduated from law school despite overwhelming obstacles

Daphne, Denise London Davis. It was a *** moment of pride, one of the proudest moments of my life to be able to turn around and be on the stairs and watch my daughter receive her doctorate in jurisdiction. It was all for me. This mother-daughter duo recently graduated from Birmingham Law School, the first in school history. But her journey to the finish line was complicated at times and very sad for Adriana. After giving birth to her son Denver, I was diagnosed with postpartum cardiomyopathy, which is like a temporary heart failure. My heart was only working at 20% after my family, it was my biggest support system. There were days when I wanted to give up, I wanted to leave, and I was told I had to keep going. So with them and with God, I did it. Daphne enrolled in law school in 2017 when her daughter was graduating from Tuskegee University, but said she had to retire from school due to financial problems. After Adriana earned a bachelor’s degree in political science from Tuskegee, she began working for Jefferson County Judge and was accepted to Birmingham Law School, which sparked her mother’s interest in returning to law school. The best part about it as a mother *** was that I was able to make the whole trip with my daughter, and through her health issues, she was the most promising of what I witnessed because I actually made the laptop, make sure she had it all what he needed as he went through his medical problems. It’s hard when your child tells you he’s not going to get it and he’s been as close to death as ever. So, bottom line is that we’re really looking forward to it. Now. The two look forward. That will be the next step for the mother and daughter to pass the Alabama Bar Exam and then start practicing law. Son Fred Devenport WV. TM 13.
