APPLE VALLEY, California (VVNG.com) – The Office of First District Supervisor Paul Cook on Wednesday, April 27, together with San Bernardino District Attorney Jason Anderson, is hosting the first Memorial to the Victims of Desert Crime.
The public is invited to attend this special event to be held from noon to 1pm at the Town of Apple Valley Amphitheater. The theme for 2022 is “Rights, access, equality, for all victims”.
“The High Desert Memorial is the first time we have paid tribute to the victims of national crimes with a ceremony in the High Desert,” said Anderson, who will speak at the event. “We all need to play a role in reaching out to victims of crime, especially those in marginalized communities, and providing support on their healing path. Together, we can reduce barriers for victims by ensuring that comprehensive services are available. ”
Did you know that the San Bernardino County Attorney’s Office has a special victim service center in Victorville? Lawyers for victims of the Department are there to provide assistance and support to victims and witnesses of crime. Services include crisis counseling, emergency services, referral of resources, criminal justice system orientation, reimbursement of costs and court support.
