Meghan Markle is ‘making the right noises’ if she wants to pursue a political career, expert says

Meghan Markle is ‘just the right sounds’ when it comes to a potential career in American politics, according to Royal Expert Russell Myers.

Speaking on the Lorraine show today, he discussed the comments Meghan, 40, made to Vogue over the weekend about the induction of Roe v. Wade during a conversation with feminist author and activist Gloria Steinem, 88, and journalist Jessica Yellin.

The Duchess, who lives in Montecito, Californiawith her husband Prince Harry37, and her children Archie, three, and Lilibet, one, said all men should join women in the fight to protect abortion rights, adding that Harry is a feminist, and he reacted angrily to the Supreme Courthis decision.

The conversation sparked rumors that the royal may be planning to enter politics, which Russell said he probably thought.

According to royal expert Russell Myers, the duchess “certainly makes the right noises” if she wants to pursue a political career

He said: ‘Prince Harry and Megan have moved to the United States.

‘They have their financial freedom. They have their essential freedom from the royal family so they can talk about political issues.

“And sure enough, Megan spoke to Vogue this weekend, talking about Roe versus Wade, a very, very controversial abortion law that has been introduced in the US.”

Meghan also pointed out that a trip to the political capital may be on the cards, suggesting that she and Gloria “can take a trip to DC together” during the Vogue interview.

Referring to this, Russell said, ‘Now Megan has said, you know, that [she] may very soon be in Washington.

‘So she has political ambitions? I think she does. And she certainly rubs the shoulders with the good people and makes the good noises.

‘So, you know, sometimes it might not seem so ridiculous that she can stand for office, because she really makes the right noises.’

Speaking to Vogue at the weekend, Meghan said all men should join women in the fight to protect abortion rights.

“Men need to be vocal at this moment and beyond, because these are decisions that affect relationships, families and communities in general,” she said.

‘They can target women, but the consequences affect us all.

‘My husband and I have talked a lot about it these past few days. He’s also a feminist. ‘

Steinem, who was approached by Markle in 2020 when the Duchess realized she was sheltered during the pandemic at her home in California, said she could confirm that Harry was deeply interested in women’s rights.

She called the couple ‘chosen family’.

“His reaction last week was gutural, like mine,” Markle said.

‘I know there is a sense of despair for so many women at the moment. But again, we need to work together and not get along. We have to do the work. ‘

The mother of two said it was important to ‘normalize conversation about the things that affect our lives and bodies’, referring to her own decision to speak out in November 2020 about her own miscarriage.

“This is about the physical safety of women,” she said.

‘It’s also about economic justice, individual autonomy, and who we are as a society. No one should be forced to make a decision that they do not want to make, or that is unsafe, or endangers their own lives. ‘

Steinem told the story of her own abortion, performed in London, with which she said she could live the life she chose.

“Here you are talking to two women: one who chose to give birth happily, and one who chose not to give birth happily,” Markle said.

“And we’re both in bloom because we were able to make our own choices.”

Meghan got some backlash from Republicans over her comments, with some saying they did not want the British royal family to have a say in American politics.

Rep. Lisa McClain (R-MI) said: ‘This is just another attempt by the ex-royals to insert their British drama into American politics.

‘I do not think anyone on this side of the pond cares about Meghan Markle’s opinion on killing babies. However, I think her candidacy for president would be a great episode for The Crown. ‘

Meanwhile, Rep. Buddy Carter: “I think the Americans made it pretty clear in 1776 that they did not want members of the British royal family to make decisions for them.”
