SAN FRANCISCO (AP) – The San Francisco Bay Area Rapid Transit District has temporarily reinstated one week after the removal of the mask order for cyclists from the railroad system.
The board of directors on Thursday decided to require cyclists to wear masks on fares and at all station areas at fare gates. A district statement says children under the age of 2 and people with illnesses that prevent them from wearing masks are exempt.
The new mandate will run until July 18, unless extended.
The San Francisco Chronicle says the director is concerned about protecting immunocompromised people and children who are not eligible for the coronavirus vaccine.
