Mark Larson breaks down Mayor Gloria’s $4.89 billion proposed budget to boost infrastructure –

SAN DIEGO (KUSI) – Mayor Todd Gloria presented his budget for the next financial year.

The mayor had called the budget “Ready for Reconstruction”, saying it was turning the city’s budget range away from COVID into critical projects that had been ignored for years.

The big conclusions from the $ 4.8 billion plan are several proposals for upgrading the city’s aging infrastructure.

In terms of traditional infrastructure, the proposal has $ 77 million for road reconstruction, $ 8.8 million for large rainwater infrastructure and repairs.

In terms of human infrastructure, the city is asking for $ 63 million to provide homeless services and an additional $ 4 million to go to parks and leisure services.

In Good Morning San Diego, KUSI Lauren Phinney and Paul Rudy spoke with Mark Larson, KUSI Partner and AM 760 radio presenter, about the proposed budget allocation.
