Man Who Opened Fire on Hillcrest Restaurant Sentenced to 49 Years in Prison

A man who fired at a Hillcrest restaurant with an assault rifle but missed about 12 people in the restaurant was sentenced to 49 years in state prison on Friday.

Stefano Markel Parker (32 years old), on February 12, 2019, Asian bistro On University Avenue.

Parker had previously had nearly 12 attempted murders and could be sentenced to life imprisonment for 374 years in this case.

At around 7:40 pm, Parker fired from the street, obscuring patrons in the restaurant, according to San Diego police. None of the people inside were shot.

Parker fled the scene, but was arrested shortly afterwards in an alley on Force Avenue, police said the rifle used for the shooting was nearby.
