Man robs massage therapist at gunpoint inside Grantville spa

Police said a man pretending to have a massage robbed a massage therapist at a spa in the Grantville district of San Diego on Friday night.

A San Diego police officer, Robert Heims, said in a news release that it happened around 6 pm at the Genspa Massage on San Diego Mission Road near Rancho Mission Road. The business is located at Rancho Mission Plaza Shopping Center, opposite Interstate 15 from the Snapdragon Stadium under construction.

Heims said the bandits went into the store and asked for a massage, but after being taken to the back room, they pulled out their guns and demanded money from a massage therapist. The employee ran out of the front door after handing over the cash.

Heims said police arrived and searched for the man, but believed he had escaped from the back door. The robber was described as a Hispanic man in his twenties, approximately 5 feet 5 inches, with brown eyes. He wore a gray hooded sweatshirt and a blue face mask.

A detective from a police robbery unit was investigating the case. Anyone with information about a robbery or robbery identity should call the robbery detective at (619) 531-2299 or the anonymous chipline of the San Diego County Crime Stopper at (888) 580-8477. Was asked for.
