Man remains jailed after arrest in Fairfield in connection with Vallejo shooting death

Fairfield — A man in Vallejo stayed in jail on Friday after being arrested this week in connection with the shooting of a woman in Vallejo.

Edgar Medina, 24, was arrested on Wednesday at Lyon Road 3700 in Fairfield by members of the Vallejo Police Crime Reduction Team and was booked in Solano County Prison early Thursday on suspicion of murder. It was.

Medina first appeared on Friday afternoon. He will appear in court on Tuesday for further adjustments. He was ordered to be detained without bail until that time.

Police suspect that Medina shot dead Amber Farin, 42, near the intersection of Sacramento and Yoro streets in Vallejo at around 6:50 pm on March 28.

Authorities were informed by hospital staff that the bullet victims were brought in by private cars. Farin died in the hospital.

The investigation warrant was provided in the “related apartment” and police reported that firearms and other evidence were found.

Medina was booked on suspicion of felony assault due to deadly weapons and felony misdemeanors, in addition to allegations of murder.

He was also detained in a Vallejo warrant alleging two felony charges. Solano County guarantees that there are two suspected misdemeanors. Warrant from Contra Costa County, including three allegations of serious offense and one alleged misdemeanor. Napa County will issue a warrant for alleged felony, one misdemeanor, and one violation of the vehicle code.

The Solano County warrant indicates allegations of vehicle theft and probation violations, which can be found in Solano County prison archives. The Vallejo Warrant indicates that he did not appear in court in a felony case, ignoring public security and evading police officers.

Contra Costa’s warrant states that he ignored public security, evaded police officers, ran backwards on the streets, and presented false identification cards to police officers, regardless of felony. The Napa Warrant states that the vehicle has been stolen, presents a false ID to a police officer, and drives without a valid license.

Farin’s death was Vallejo’s first reported murder in 2021.
