Man killed in El Cajon crash identified

One driver was killed Friday night when the car he was driving crashed into parked vehicles on an El Cajon street has been identified as a 38-year-old San Diego man.

Martin Pedroza was driving a black Prius west on Broadway near North Mollison Avenue just before 7:30 p.m. when he crashed into several vehicles, including an SUV, parked along the sidewalk, according to the San Diego County Coroner’s Office .

Pedroza was the sole occupant of the Prius, El Cajon police said.

Witnesses called first responders, who found the man with “multiple blunt force trauma” to the chest and abdomen, according to the Medical Examiner’s Office.

He was taken to Scripps Mercy Hospital where he was pronounced dead, a day before his 39th birthdayu birthday.

Police said no other vehicles were involved in the crash.
